Good news, Galaxy S25 could go all-in on Snapdragon chipsets

With the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, the company went back to using a mix of Qualcomm and Exynos chipsets in the phone depending on the region the phones were sold in. This is versus the Galaxy S23 series which went all-in on Qualcomm. Now it looks like Samsung could go back to Snapdragon again with the Galaxy S25 series.

This is according to a report from Business Korea where it was revealed that this decision could be due to low production yields on the Exynos 2500 chipset. It was previously expected that Samsung could continue using a mix of Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets for the Galaxy S25, but due to the low yield, the company could be forced to go all-in with Qualcomm once again.

Assuming this is true, the Galaxy S25 launching in 2025 could be using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset exclusively. This is good news for those in regions that got the Exynos variant of the phone, although this could end up costing Samsung quite a bit of money. While we don’t know the exact costs per chipset, it was previously reported that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could be an expensive affair.

This led to rumors that Samsung might have to even consider using chipsets from MediaTek. Either way, we’ll know soon enough if the rumors are true, so until then, take it with a grain of salt for now.
